A friend of mine always says when I am thinking the same thing as she is or we're on the same page "you are reading my mail girl", she is a hilarious woman with lots of one-liners that usually gets me through the day. I thought of her and that one liner when I started this post so there you have it, my inspiration.
But really, my inspiration for today's post isn't about that, it's actually about the real mail I receive and much more than that, it's about how I feel when I get this mail, how something as simple as a letter can make such an impact on me, how it can put a huge smile on my face and make my day. Not to get all serious, I know I am hired to take pretty pictures, I'm not curing cancer here, (I'm not shallow but I tend to eye-roll when something that is meant to be happy and fun is made deep and serious.)
I take pictures and yes, I have a family and I work and I know it's crazy I can fit it all in. But in the words of Mumford and Sons "where you invest your love, you invest your life". So true, for me. I believe everyone finds time in their lives for what they love. I find time in my life for these wonderful couples, for these long trips, for these 10 hours days, for taking pictures because.... I love it. Not out of need, or greed. The people who take a moment out of their lives to send me an email or handwritten note are the reason.
So here you go, read my mail.
I wanted to thank you so much for our beautiful engagement photos- for taking a whole day out of your weekend to travel to Madison, for being so wonderful to be around, and for truly capturing the way Dex and I feel about each other and...how much fun we were having. I will always remember that day. I have not stopped looking at the photos since you posted them on your blog. After following your blog for 2 years (religiously) I had no doubts that you would be the perfect photographer for us, but after spending the day with you and seeing our pictures, it's just so much more than I could've imagined. Thank You, Thank You!!

I heard you are the photographer for my friend Hannah's wedding in October 2015 and I am soooooooo excited....(mostly because Jared and I will be able to see you again!)....but also because I know that her and and Adam are going to be so in love with their photos. I also know Holly and when I found out that you were her photographer I emailed her right away letting her know that no matter what happens on her day, her photographs will be perfect. I stand by that when anyone asks who their wedding photographer should be----I always say you. I see my wedding pictures every day--in some form or another---and they never fail to bring a smile to my face. You do amazing work Dani and I am so happy that you will be able to do the same for Hannah!
Have a wonderful week! And see you on October 9, 2015 :)
