Friday Frames // My kind of people

So I shot this (incredible) engagement session with these two sweethearts Laura and Travis, and while we were shooting we got on the subject of my blog, work, etc.. This couple said that when they inquired with me they realized I had a certain "type" of people as clients, a certain style of couple.  They said they only hoped that they would be this type of couple and fit my style too. (Seriously you guys, these two are like the poster couple of my type of clients, love them!)  Laura said "what you have, and these couples,  it's a brand" and I wanted to hug her right there. I was SO happy, this was an enormous compliment and exactly what I want for my business, a brand that attracts a certain "type" of couple.  If you follow my blog for me it's not about how fancy the wedding was or if it was at a barn or at a specific location, wearing specific type of dress, and had certain details, it can or can not be any of those things, it doesn't matter to me. For me, It's about the couple. The type of people they are, my kind of people.  People who love photos but know they are not the most important part of the day because getting married is most important and if everything else goes wrong then your still husband and wife and that's the best thing that could ever happen.  The type of people who wouldn't ask me to change their photos, the kind of of people who can laugh and be silly, who love the outdoors, who have hobbies and interests, people who love to travel and eat good food. People who love where they live and watch football on Sundays. People who bring me yummy cookies from the food coop ;)
(The fact that my couples are all insanely adorable is just a bonus.)

Valera & Ashley's Classy Downtown Milwaukee Wedding

I need to shoot downtown more often, I absolutely loved this wedding, from getting the dress on to the surprise confetti bomb at the reception, this day was magical. I can't tell you how excited I was to work with Valera & Ashley,  I shot Ashley's sisters wedding years back and I know the wonderful Connor's family, I knew they were going to put together an amazing wedding. (I'm all gushy over this wedding! ) It was a perfect, sunny, fall day in Downtown Milwaukee. There was bow ties, tuxes and Vera Wang but on Ashley's wedding day breakdown she and Valera filled out for me under what is the most important part of your day they wrote "people are most important" and that showed, Ashley and Valera were perfect hosts for the day, care so much about their family and friends and had nothing but smiles and excitement.  We had an excellent timeline that allowed for creative photos and locations, they had a great wedding party along for the trolley ride and a terrific party planned at The Grain Exchange.  Let me tell you, they know how to throw a party! Special Thanks to my husband for assisting me on this perfect October day in Milwaukee, we loved the entire day!  Enjoy the preview and leave some comment love below. Friday Frames // Dear October....

Dear October, 

You are my nemesis. You and your sweater and scarf temperatures (Ugh! you know I love sweaters and scarfs!), football games and those gorgeous color changing trees. Pumpkin patches, apple cider and wagon rides. You and your perfect sunsets and promises of a few more warm days. You are my busiest, pull-my-hair-out, sleep deprived month. Yet, your my gateway month to the long dormant, lazy winter full of holidays, Netlfix watching, couch snuggling, date nights, dinner with friends, and sleeping in on weekends. I don't know whether I love you or hate you. Whether I am excited for you to come or for you to end. You, October. How dare you.
