A Day in The Life of Baby Brix

Every parent has a story,  I have a story, all of my friends have a story, my sister has a story, my grandmas have stories.  The good & beautiful experiences and the stories of grief & struggle. Getting pregnant and having a healthy baby is an absolute miracle right here on earth. Becoming a parent was a game-changer. What a gift it is, truly. Once you become a parent, things you once cared about take a major turn. What's left is unconditional love.

Jen and Darren are a wedding couple of mine. They had a beautiful September wedding that I am still swooning over. When I heard they were pregnant I could not be more happy for them. But Worry and panic struck this couple early, they didn't have the perfect pregnancy, or even a regular pregnancy for that matter.  They missed all the "regular" pregnancy things people do like maternity photos and even a baby shower. This was not a perfect experience for them. Brix arrived at 28 weeks on February 11th at 12:36pm, he weighed 1lb 8 oz and was 12.6 inches long. He is 33 weeks today and his real due date was May 5th, 2015.  Lots of thoughts and prayers surrounded this family that day. Luckily they have one tough little man. He is doing well and growing, today weighing in at 2lbs 9.6 oz and 14.6 inches long.  I couldn't be more honored to get to meet Baby Brix. I wanted to give him and his family something to remember these special days, weeks, months of the start of his journey of life. He is a beautiful miracle, like every baby in the world. Congrats Barnharsts, your beautiful little man will be swinging a bat in no time.

Changing Shape // Friday Frames

I recently read an article about 25 things moms need. All were things moms need, a date night, time to herself, a good book, help around the house, etc.. I think the one I liked best and obviously related to was "creative outlet", moms need their own thing. I have found mine and it has really made me happy the last 8 years (I can't believe it's been that long). I do not know what I would do without it.  I have made adjustments in my life and am making more to make photography fit in my life.  I see my friends gone every weekend at hockey tournaments or basketball games and I am off shooting weddings. They fit that into their life and I fit weddings into mine. Both for the same reason, we love it. As my kids get older we are starting soccer, baseball and football games. Life is changing shape.

Starting in 2015 I will be taking on a very limited number of family sessions.  I want to continue my relationship with past wedding clients and build a relationship with new wedding clients. I will be accepting family sessions for past wedding clients  only from now on and probably only at my once a year mini-sessions. Otherwise my business focus is strictly engagement sessions (for those who book weddings with me) and weddings.  During the months of November-April I will however still be available for "At Home" sessions! And if we already have a session on the books, don't worry- we are still on.

Amanda & Jordan // Oshkosh, WI Engagements

Who doesn't like their favorite hang out all to themselves? + a yummy beverage + their beloved pup?  Amanda and Jordan opened Oblios  just for them and was a perfect starter for the our session ( I extra loved it because I met my husband over shuffleboard in a place similar) Then Lola (their 10 month old Bernese Mountain Dog) joined us and she's beyond adorable, thankfully the weather was sunny and above zero the day we chose, it was perfect for shooting and enjoying outside for once!  I loved spending the day with Amanda and Jordan. Can't wait to return to Oshkosh for their wedding in July at The Waters. Enjoy this super fun session!
