Boy meets girl. Jordan a farmer, Destany a kindergarten teacher. They fall in love. He talks the school principal and Miss Newman's Kindergarten Class into surprising her with a proposal that later gets broadcasted on the news. He had the little kindergarteners hold up letters: Will You Marry ME? The rest is history. Destany and Jordan win a big gold star for the greatest smiles. Happy couples are a MUST for me and I was overjoyed to work with these two. What better place to get married than the family farm, ceremony on a hilltop, reception in the big shed, add in some surprisingly awesome weather and a studebaker and Viola! We had a fairytale Wedding. Such a fun day with a great group of really happy people! Enjoy the preview!
I can't put into words to describe the 2015 wedding season, weekend after weekend I experience new levels of amazing. Deeply in love couples, heartfelt ceremonies, the music, the dresses, the food, the smiles, the hugs...it's intoxicating. I couldn't be more honored to share this day with these couples especially Melissa and Jonathan. These two. So incredibly genuine and sweet, so funny and kind. Their wedding was everything. Start to finish it was pure joy. I may have slightly (Ok-went WAAAY overboard) shooting the back of Melissa's dress but come one, this dress? the back? BHDLN is always a win. I'm so excited to share Mr. & Mrs. Nelson's lovely Wedding at Heritage Hill.
Dress: BHLDN, Florist: Divine Nature, Bar/ Caterer/Cake: Village Hearthstone
Every wedding I get to shoot at Schuster's Farm is a dream. Doug & Elizabeth's wedding was amazing, laid back, sincere, heartfelt and exciting. All things I love about a wedding! I'm in love with the casual bridemaids dresses, Elizabeth's BHLDN Gown and flower crown matched the rustic backdrop of Schusters Farm seemlessly. The ceremony was put together by a close friend and I have to say, it was one of my favorite ceremonies of all time. It was clever, sweet, funny, sincere, and most of all heartfelt. This blog post is heavy on ceremony and couple photos because to me, that's the most important part of the day. But Elizabeth had an exciting surprise for her UW Madison Alum groom at the reception, the UW Marching Band! The energy was unbelievable. I am so in love with this couple + wedding, I hope you are too.
Here's a few favorite bits and pieces of the vows that were used and I wanted to share:
I promise to listen, but I won’t be quiet. I want to hear your heart. I will always speak up because you matter more to me than the keeping of the peace.
I promise to touch you. Every day.
I promise to remember who you are. And to never make you anything else to me.
I promise to excite you. A rut is no place for two love royalties such as ourselves.
I promise to be in the moment. It’s all we have and it’s better with you in it.
