The Ivy House Wedding // Susan and Joe // Milwaukee, WI

Do you have any idea the power of inspiration? It can just take someone over in such an amazing way. Here’s a tip, go ahead and consider hiring a photographer who has never been to your venue before. Now, hire a professional, hire someone whose been in business for years and who is reputable. But if they have never worked at your venue before, that’s a GOOD thing. They have a fresh perspective and they will feel inspired. This was me at Susan and Joe’s wedding. I was so taken back by her dress that I left the room to compose myself and return to start shooting. The dress, and venue and veil and grooms attire and florals and weather and the smell in the air and the getting ready suite and the ivy, and the owners of this new venue and most of all the couple and their friends and families- it all really inspired me. I had so much fun with this wedding. I felt like the day was a mix between soft and romantic and urban and edgy. It all molded together like this movie. I love the owners of this new venue, The Ivy House expect big things here, they have been working and dreaming this up for seven years, taking something away from every wedding they DJ’d, putting it all together to create something really whole and beautiful and functional. I’m so glad I was able to be a part of this day with Susan and Joe. Editing these photos I still felt that jolt of inspiration and joy! I hope you feel it too. Excellent vendor list below.

Lambeau Field Wedding // Annie and Will // Green Bay, WI

Ooooookay, when I am asked to spend the weekend at Lambeau Field you can rest assured I am in! As I said before, highest honor is word of mouth referrals, but even better is a sibling wedding! Both my May weddings were siblings from past weddings which made it so much fun!

Annie and Will chose one of my favorite places on earth for their reception after their very meaningful ceremony. The spring florals went so well with the absolutely nicest day! I think one thing that sticks out at me the very most is the way they put their heads together and hold. It’s so incredibly sweet and I don’t even know if they do it but it’s automatic for them, I noticed them doing it all day and captured it a few times.

At first I gauged their personalities as quiet and calm but they had a surprise in store at the reception, the UW Marching Band! and Annie and Will are alums who played trumpet together which is how they met. And I do not think this day could have ended any better than with them playing with the band! I love nothing more than to watch people open up and becoming fully inspired and alive while doing something they love! Absolutely amazing moments at this sweet wedding! Enjoy and check out the vendors below!

Milwaukee Wedding // Evan and Lauren// The Wisconsin Women's Club

Wedding Season is here! and I am starting out VERY lucky. Both my May weddings to kick off the season were Sibling to past wedding couples of mine. Which is by far the highest honor and compliment I could ever receive. So to say this season started out amazing is probably an understatement. There is absolutely NOTHING that can compare to word of mouth referrals, except maybe sibling referrals!

Lauren and Evan have been planning this wedding for a long time, I remember how fun and creative Lauren was at her sister Amy’s wedding so of course when she reached out I pretty much was over the moon excited. This wedding has Lauren written all over it, it was beautiful and fun and so well put together. Lauren was a knock out ( her hair?t that dress?) and Evan her perfect match in black tie! The Wisconsin Woman’s club was a new venue for me and I loved it. You had me at all white! The color pallete, the special touches, the wedding dress! and black tie attire was so perfect for downtown Milwaukee! To end the night the couple chose a high energy and fun band (I’m a BIG fan of bands at weddings!)

I couldn’t be happier for this beautiful couple, such amazing people and teachers! ( I love teachers!) This spring weather showed off all it’s charm for this couple too, only making the day more sweet. Blooms everywhere! Enjoy this beautiful preview and be sure to scroll for full vendor list. Also want to Thank my second shooter Emily Balfanz for always making the day so fun and for being in the right place at the right time to capture beautiful photos. (credit below)
